Summary
I chose to incorporate a slider to showcase the percentage of a house's basement that is finished and how it directly impacts the total square footage of the house. By using a slider, I aimed to provide learners with a dynamic and interactive way to explore the relationship between the finished basement area and the overall size of the house.
The slider allows learners to actively adjust the percentage of the basement that is finished, instantly visualizing the impact on the total square footage. As they slide the control, they can observe the changes in real-time, witnessing how the finished area affects the overall size of the house.
This interactive representation fosters a deeper understanding of the concept by engaging learners in an experiential learning process. By actively manipulating the slider, learners can grasp the cause-and-effect relationship between finishing the basement and the resulting increase in the house's square footage. They can observe how incremental changes in the finished area directly influence the overall size, helping them comprehend the significance of this factor in the world of insurance coverage.
Moreover, the visual nature of the slider enhances comprehension and retention of the information. Learners can visually see the direct correlation between the finished basement area and the resulting increase in square footage, making it easier to grasp the concept and retain the knowledge.
By incorporating the slider, learners not only gain a conceptual understanding of how finishing the basement impacts the total square footage but also experience a more immersive and engaging learning journey. The interactive nature of the slider promotes active exploration, encouraging learners to delve deeper into the concept and empowering them to make connections between theory and real-world scenarios.
In summary, the decision to use a slider to demonstrate the relationship between the finished basement percentage and the total square footage of the house was driven by the aim to provide learners with an interactive, visually engaging, and experiential learning experience. This approach helps learners better understand the concept by actively participating in the exploration of how finishing the basement affects the overall size of a house.
